Guidelines
The Organising Committee invites all scholars working on subjects related to Near Eastern Archaeology to participate in the 14th International Congress on the Archaeology of the Ancient Near East (14thICAANE). The 14th ICAANE will be held in Lyon (University Lumière Lyon 2, Maison de l’Orient et de la Méditerranée) from 2 to 7 June 2025.
- The attendance will be completely in person.
- Registration will be possible from December 2024 onwards.
- DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS (Papers, posters) :
31st October 2024 15th Nov-24
- No papers or posters dealing with unprovenanced artefacts will be accepted.
- All papers and posters should respect the UNESCO Convention of 1970.
- The Scientific Committee will evaluate all submitted abstracts, and information on accepted proposals will be sent via e-mail.
- Early Career Researcher events are encouraged (workshop, meeting…).
PAPERS, POSTERS & WORKSHOPS
Papers
- Papers can be submitted for review on the abstract platform.
- All speakers are requested to observe a 20-minute limit for their papers.
- All speakers must be registered in the congress and attend in-person.
- Each participant can submit only one paper.
- Abstracts submitted for papers should be no longer than 200 words.
Posters
- All subjects, such as preliminary results or methodological reflections, are welcomed.
- At least one author of the poster must register and attend the congress in-person.
- Posters of PhD students are encouraged.
- Abstracts submitted for posters should be no longer than 200 words.
- A prize will be awarded to the best poster.
- Accepted poster format is A0 (Portrait).
Workshops
The abstract submission for Workshops is closed
- The workshop should be integrated into one of the main themes.
- Participants wishing to organize a workshop are invited to propose themes to the Scientific Committee and submit an abstract.
- Proposals must include the titles of at least 6 talks, and not more than 12 talks for each workshop.
- The organizer of the workshop must ensure the participation of at least 66% of the presenters.
- Workshops will be accepted after evaluation by the scientific committee, in order of their date of submission – according to the time available.
- Workshops must not last more than one day.
